What is Sustainable Development
This is one of the most familiar terms globally. The simple definition of 'Sustainable Development is "economic development that is conducted without depletion of natural resources"(dictionary, google).
According to Bruntland Commission Report in 1987, Sustainable Development is described as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."(UNESCO)
In my opinion, Sustainable Development is a step-by-step development process that each citizen of a country should experience. The first step in that process is being financially independent. To be in brief, sustainable development as economic development is not at all complete rather it is only a beginning.
Each and every individual of a country should focus more on their overall development since our nation will face limitations to check the all-in-all progress of each and every individual for a long time. It is not practical to monitor the overall progress of every citizen by a nation. But it is easy to monitor our own progress as an individual with optimum attention every day.
To bring progressive change in everyone's life should be our focus as a citizen of our country. That focus can be something like this- "My progress should reflect upon my country's progress. Gradually, the progress of the world." Thus, we can achieve all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
